WILMSLOW Rugby Club is in the money for a dazzling performance OFF the field.
They have won £250 for the number of raffle tickets they sold in the Rugby Football Union’s national draw last year.
They were presented with the cheque at a special lunch before Wilmslow’s 24-0 victory over Vale of Lune at Pownall Park.
The prize was sponsored for the RFU by Bolton-based Musco Lighting, who specialise in floodlighting worldwide, and whose UK operations general manager Jerry Brown came along to hand it over.
Musco lighting have sponsored the RFU’s community club development programme for seven years and Mr Brown said he was delighted to present the cheque to Wilmslow.
He handed it to club president Jonty Fallows, who said the money would help with the club’s development fund in this, its 125th anniversary year.
Said Jonty: “This is deserved recognition for all those who help out at Wilmslow off the field as well as on it. As a truly amateur club, financial help from any quarter is very welcome and we must thank Musco Lighting for their generous support of the RFU raffle.”
