Most of you are aware that it will be exactly 125 years to the day on Saturday, 3rd October since our doughty forebears first ran out to play rugby, probably at Hough Lane, against Woodlands, a team from Manchester, and won.
It would be very remiss of us if we did not celebrate the occasion with a dinner. The President and committee would like to invite you to attend such a festivity on the night before, Friday October 2nd.
This will be a men only black tie event with a few guests, including our most famous “old boy” Steve Smith, who will propose the health of the Club. There will be captains from the 1950’s to the present day and many of the past and present Presidents, Secretaries and Officials but the bulk will be the rank and file of the rest of the members, without whom we would have folded many years ago.
The dinner will be held in the newly refurbished hall at 7.00 for 7.30 so, as places are limited, please send Barry Fisher your cheque for £25.00 if you wish to attend.
