THE rugby club is open for members and guests to follow the Lions in South Africa this summer.
We’ll be open for every game, so why not come on down to Pownall Park and watch the British and Irish Lions take on the might of South Africa in a real rugby atmosphere?
The tour kicks off on Saturday, May 30th with the first game against Highveld, which starts at 2pm. The tour itinerary is printed below, so you can clear your diaries accordingly.
The test matches will be the highlight of course, but we’re open also for the midweek games as well, which are just as important for those on the fringe of the test team.
Sat, May 30th: Lions v Highveld. k.o. 2pm, bar open 1-30pm.
Wed, June 3rd: Lions v Golden Lions. k.o. 6.10pm, bar open 6pm.
Sat, June 6th: Lions v Cheetahs. k.o. 2pm. bar open 1-30pm.
Wed, June 10th: Lions v Sharks. k.o. 6-10pm. bar open 6pm.
Sat, June 13th: Lions v Western Province. k.o. 2pm, bar open 1-30pm
Tues, June 16th: Lions v Coastal XV. k.o. 2pm. Bar: t.b.a.
Sat, June 20th: Lions v South Africa, 1st test. k.o. 2pm, bar open 1pm.
Sat, June 27th: Lions v South Africa, 2nd test. k.o. 2pm, bar open 1pm.
Thurs, July 1st: pre season training starts 7pm. Bar open as normal.
Sat, July 4th: Lions v South Africa, 3rd test. k.o. 2pm, bar open 1pm.
The club will also be open as usual throughout the summer for the running club.
